Great gritty book, wish there were 20 more like it! Prison life who knew!
As a retired high school English teacher, I thought the plot and character development was excellent.
However, I am having difficulty finding the last book of the trilogy.
If you liked Shawshank Redemption, you will like this prison series. it is depressing to read, but in the end, you still have hopes for Starks.
This was the type of reading I love! Just when you think you have the story line...BAM! You are pleasantly surprised into another, far more exciting direction! Riveting novel! I cannot wait for #3!
Yes I enjoyed the book. I should have read the first one first though. I think I would have enjoyed it more. I don't know if there is a 3rd book but if so I hope it is his life after he is out.
I cannot get enough of this story! Just as good as the 1st and am looking so forward to the 3rd. I'm loving Starks and how he's being pushed to the brink of insanity yet stays very controlled! You push these characters to their limits! So many crazy twists you don't see coming!!! Bring on #3!
I have not read a story that grabbed my attention so completely and easily in a long time. It's a brutal story over choices we make and how easily we are derailed as humans. The luxury of not looking at one self and checking constantly that we are living up to what we want to be truly can have horrible consequences. To read this book for entertainment purposes alone would be worth it. To read it and apply lessons told so commandingly is worth a fortune. Thank you Mr Clerge for sharing your absolute correct insights of our human minds in such an entertaining fashion!
