Cancelled Love story from a male POV eBook Elizabeth Ann West

There was so much wrong with this book, it is hard to know where to begin. The title leads readers to expect a Love Story from the male POV, when in fact, there's no love story really. Nor does the main character (Jonathan) appear to have any real emotions which make you even remotely interested in his POV! I get that by the end he has "grown up" but he doesn't seem any the wiser, or nicer, or improved as a result. The story flow is very uneven with lots of business talk and totally extraneous facts thrown in that just pad the story but don't have any bearing on the plot or anything. The dialogue is heavy and lacks charm or humor. And finally, there are so many typos and grammatical mistakes that it is impossible to actually focus on the story. In all this was a very difficult book to get through. Finally, I don't require a happy ending in the books I read but frankly everything about the presentation of this one was misleading. The ending isn't UNhappy but don't expect this book to give you any kind of a lift.

Cancelled Love story from a male POV eBook Elizabeth Ann West Reviews

I had to force myself to finish this book, it dragged out for what seemed like forever. There was just so much information about what Jonathan does for a living that it seemed more like the author was trying to brag about her (inadequate) knowledge on engineering.

The portrayal of Kellie (the blonde idiot who happens to get knocked up from a one night stand with Jonathan) was annoyingly stereotypical. I understood the difference between the two women that Ms. West was trying to make, but I don't appreciate the way she did it.

This is one e-book that reminds you why free e-books are always a risk.
I found it interesting to read a romance that was written from a male point of view.
Johnathan Michaels made a bad decision one night and found himself in a compromising situation the next morning.

Months later when the business that was his brain child acquired it's biggest contract, and he is making a life together with the woman he loves, the results of that "compromising situation" appears at his door a very pregnant girl whose name he doesn't know.

This book follows Johnathan as he juggles compounding problems; his business, his family problems , his love and his impending fatherhood with a woman he doesn't know.

I liked Johnathan. There were times I wanted to shake him, there were times I felt compassion for him, there were times when I really respected him. At times my heart ached for him. He faced reality, made tough decisions and chose wisely.

The story line had several twists and unexpected turns. It was refreshingly realistic and it ended on a hopeful note.
I honestly have no idea why this book got such good reviews. The concept sounds intriguing a romance novel told from the point of view of the man. But there is very little character development and the relationship between the two main characters happens very quickly. That's when the author loses me. The heroine in the story goes from being likeable to a martyr to a downright bitch. And the worst part was that there was no rhyme or reason for her behavior at all. Seriously, she was awful. Hated it.
Cancelled is not your typical "romance". It starts with the mutual crush between Johnathan & Alexis, but that all changes when Kellie shows up at the office to inform Johnathan that she is pregnant with his child. He may not have made the right decisions along the way, but I felt he did grow into being a better man. Although, I liked Johnathan from the beginning so he grew on me more as I read Cancelled. I think the true love story was a father's love for his baby and standing up for his child no matter what the cost even if that meant losing what he thought he wanted most in life. There were a few twists in the story that I wasn't expecting so that kept me turning the pages. The story is one that happens in life so you can relate to what the characters are going through. It was refreshing to read it through a man's POV.

I would've liked to have read more about his relationship with his sister after the "big news". Did they come to a mutual understanding that kept their relationship intact...that type of thing.
I going to start by saying that there really isn't a romantic love story here. The love story was more about a man coming to terms with being a father rather than really being a man "in love". The synopsis should have stated this was a story on how to appease all the important women in your life. Which is sad, because someone ends up losing along the line.

I was intrigued to see what a story told from a male POV, but I was disappointed to see that there was so much lack of communication coming from the main character. And not just with his love interest, he failed to communicate with all the people surrounding this life. In all honesty, this story puts men in a stereotypical plane that men hide things until it blows in their face. I felt no connection with the main character, I actually felt no connection to any of the characters.

The plot, twists, and turn of events were different and it's what had me continuing to finish the story. But the center of the story was filled so much with what he did career wise. I saw more passion in what he did rather than who he was in love with. The so-called-romance aspect was lacking lust. He waited so long to be with the woman he loved, yet there was no description of how she made him feel. There was no actual "chemistry".

As for the "heroine"; I found her to be self centered and emotionally malicious.

In overall, this was book was labeled incorrectly by putting it under the romance genre. I was under the impression that I would recommend this book to friends, but I cannot.
It's entirely possible I've read this book before but my kindle library is nuts. I didn't recognize the book at the start so i don't know. But it's super sweet i didn't think that Alex would turn out to be so rude but it's nice to see that Kellie and him finally get along and get together. I love the idea of baby Charlotte and uncle Eric's toys. It's a sweet story and just proof that things don't always turn out how you think in life but that's not a bad thing.
There was so much wrong with this book, it is hard to know where to begin. The title leads readers to expect a Love Story from the male POV, when in fact, there's no love story really.
